I CHRISTEN ALSO THIS POST - Dargon Week
Upon witnessing a Bulba in a kitchen, there was something that probably became clear: he was definitely going to try and take at least a little advantage of it. Despite whatever turmoil he was still grappling with, he wasn't about to let the chance to actually cook for Vinnie go to waste.
And so, a text for the unassuming dragon (MAYBE HE FOUND HIS PHONE): Food in the kitchen if you want some!
But even if he didn't show up Bulba was going to come shove it at him anyway.]

But never had the need been so dire. He was starving. He was starving so bad. His flame was tiny and sputtering without any fuel to feed it, and he lacked the energy to do even the simplest of tasks. It was basically the worst.
Bulba... liked him, he tried to reason to himself. So it was only fair to Bulba that Vinnie let him... do something for him?
God he was just so fucking hungry.
At the very least, he would not allow something as pathetic as getting delivered food in bed happen
again. Vinnie forcibly dragged himself to the kitchen, looking like death warmed over.]no subject
Bulba looked over at the kitchen doorway from his place at the sink when he heard someone come in, smiling a tiny bit when he noted that it was in fact Vinnie. Charizard or not, he knew that scowl. He felt a vague wave of conflict settle in his gut, knowing that there were things that had gone unsaid and he really, reallly did not feel good about them at all. But he'd have to soldier on, he had decided that much.]
Hey...!
[The Venusaur motioned with a soapy hand towards the little table set up, where there was... way more food than really necessary. Enough for many dragons, perhaps.]
I uh... made a bit too much, ha.... [Stress cooking, you see.] If you want to polish any of it off that'd be a big help, really.

He stood there for a long, awkward moment, just staring. Even his mouth hung open a little. Decorum stated that he at least say, thank you, or something, but for some reason the words couldn't make it past his throat.
Slowly, Vinnie shambled over to the table and all but collapsed on the chair. His tail was dragging along the floor, no energy for lift but still limply trying to make some semblance of a wagging motion. It was really like a languid, side-to-side shuffle though. One shaky hand reached out to grab a burger and...
then he started inhaling everything.]

He turned his head towards him as best he could, though it was mostly a token gesture in his position.]
Yeah?

I was wondering if you maybe wanted to go anywhere for Valentine's Day.
[It was very to the point, since it was February now. Geez.]

Valentine's...

A somewhat grim expression settled onto his face.]

SOMETIME... JANUARY.... Pre-Dargons
Except that was a lie. There was a glaring piece that stood out like a sore thumb, he was just doing his best to ignore it. Doing so was only going to make it worse though, and he knew it. The question had been hanging over his head since he had spoken to Voile about it. It needed to be asked. It did. Even if it didn't seem like a very good time to do so, was there ever really one to begin with? Trying to say he'd wait was just fooling himself and hoping things would get better on their own so he'd never have to question it.
But if Vinnie wasn't happy with... them... Then Bulba needed to know, for both their sakes. Besides, it was completely possible it was all in his head. It wouldn't have been the first time.
(He hoped this was the case.)
Bulba was sitting against the side of Vinnie's bed that afternoon, a book in his hands that he was altogether not very good at focusing on. The same sentence blended together over and over frustratingly. Eventually Bulba gave up, looking up from the page to peek on how Vinnie was faring with his.

In the face of such conflicts, academia seemed so trivial, somehow. Every time he tried to focus back on school, his mind protested by wandering off instead. He'd been lying on the bed with a research paper, but by the time Bulba looked over at him, the paper was resting lazily on his chest and he'd gone back to staring blankly at the ceiling.
no subject
The shiny twisted around in his position, gently laying his head down on the edge of the bed. Some of his hair fanned out over the sheets, brushing Vinnie's fingertips with how close he had laid his head. Even if it was just for a few moments, Bulba still liked to watch him like this. It was almost easy to pretend there weren't many worries to be thinking about when all he saw was him. So for a little while that's all he did, quietly peering at him with gold eyes that were trying to note down every little detail.
After a bit, though, Bulba nuzzled his face closer to softly bump Vinnie's fingers with his nose. Boop.

Valentine's the Reckoning
They were very fancy individuals.
Which was exactly why Bulba was flopping his way across the bed to build a pillow nest.
Clearly.
no subject
Since last year went smoothly, it was only natural that they went for round two once Valentine's rolled around again. (The room was reserved well, well ahead of schedule as a result.)
Vinnie smirked a little at the sight of Bulba getting a head start on his terrible pillow hoarding addiction as he strode over to the TV at his own pace, rentals in hand.
"So, which one've these disasters should we put in first?"
no subject
Bulba sat up on his knees in the middle of placing a pillow in the perfect spot to give his chin a thoughtful rub.
"The worst looking one is either going to be the best one or the actual worst. We might as well go all out."
